West Malaysia History

Since 2013, Wild Asia has worked with mills, dealers and indigenous communities in Perak, helping smallholders earn RSPO and MSPO certification. This work led to the state’s first RSPO certified group and the launch of the BIO program in 2018, and it continues to grow through new partnerships and dealer networks.

In Selangor, WAGS began building relationships with indigenous communities in 2021, especially on Carey Island. Together with SD Guthrie, we support 175 smallholders there, 157 of whom are already RSPO certified. The program has since expanded into Banting, Klang and Sepang, where 104 more certified smallholders have joined.
